Why abortion is murder

Among the most highly discussed issues in America today, abortion is at the top of the list. What has helped spark the interest in this topic is the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which made abortion illegal in many states; Roe v. Wade had legalized the right to abortion in 1973. I could talk about the history of abortion in the U.S., but I’ll get straight to the core of the issue. In virtually all cases, abortion is wrong.
Except for safety reasons, abortion is murder. Some argue that abortion is wrong except in cases where an extremely rare emergency procedure is required—for instance, to save the mother’s life when both she and the baby would otherwise perish and all other avenues have been exhausted. It is obvious that we do not live in a perfect world, and every scenario is different. But if an abortion is not needed for health reasons, it is murder in every single case.
According to several sources, “there is no situation in which an abortion is medically necessary,” and “[w]e confirm that the prohibition of abortion does not affect, in any way, the availability of optimal care to pregnant women.” (Rose and Harrison; “Premature Delivery Is Not Induced Abortion”).
However, other articles say that an emergency abortion may be necessary for the health of the mother.
For example, this article says the following:
“There are situations where pregnancy termination in the form of the abortion is the only medical intervention that can preserve a patient’s health or save their life,” the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Physicians for Reproductive Health wrote in a 2019 joint statement. (Solis-Moreira, Jocelyn)
Even if there are extremely rare cases in which an emergency abortion is needed, they are just that—extremely rare—and overall we can say that abortion is murder.
Each scenario is different and it seems that the persons involved need to use discernment. At the end of the day, God knows their motives and intentions. What does God want you to do?
You don’t have to listen to my stance on this issue because God—the author of life and the source of morality—says it is wrong. Not only does He say it is wrong, but you already know it is, too. Your conscience tells you it isn’t right. Plain and simple: It is murder. I could post just a few Bible verses to share God’s perspective, but you can visit this webpage to explore many more:

Gotquestions.org also has a great article discussing abortion related to God’s Will:

People can argue and say a human hasn’t formed yet. But, we all know that the zygote was going to become a human being at some point in the future. If it is morally wrong to murder someone at, say, the age of two, why is it morally right to murder them prior to them being born knowing that they would have likely became a human being to reach the age of two?
People can say that it’s “my body, my choice.” While God certainly gives us plenty of freedom and isn’t a controlling puppet master looking down at all of His creation while scrutinizing every single action we make, this is not an example of a choice God embraces. In this case, the human life supersedes liberty. The human life has rights—in this case fetal rights—just like all of us. Just because the person cannot think or stand up for themselves yet doesn’t mean he or she doesn’t have rights. People with disabilities that may not be able to stand up for themselves have rights, right? Why is this different?
Finally, a failproof rebuttal to close the case on why abortion is wrong:
For those who claim abortion is good, you wouldn’t even be here if you were aborted; you wouldn’t even be able to argue in favor of it.

Why do individuals believe they have the right to end an innocent life, while maintaining that their own lives should be protected from the same fate? Doesn’t this follow the golden rule to a certain extent? “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets” (New International Version, Matthew 7:12).
Would you want to be murdered in the womb? It is ultimately God’s creation, and we do not get to decide who lives or dies. This kind of power belongs only in the hands of our Maker—an innocent person does not deserve capital punishment for a crime they have not committed.
Just because many people are pro-choice and the movement is increasing in popularity, it does not mean the position is morally right. Many people choose to reject God and are “Hellbound,” but that clearly does not make it right either. According to Fox News, more than 63 million abortions have taken place in the U.S. since 1973—meaning 63 million people have essentially been legally murdered.
Further into the article, “former Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards has argued that ‘there’s no specific moment when life begins’ and that hers began when her children were born” (Morris, Kyle, and Sam Dorman). It sounds like she declared a moment when life began for herself based upon her own personal, made-up definition. Another person could say life began for their children when they turned 10.
Abortion is not a matter of opinion, much like the notion that there are more than two genders is not a matter of opinion. Scripture establishes that God created only two genders and that abortion is wrong. He designed exactly two genders and designated a person in the womb as a human being. You may hate me for posting this, but it remains the truth.
If you have had an abortion, know that God can forgive you. As with any transgression, we cannot go back and undo the past. However, the only sin that remains unforgivable is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
